It has been said that Aprilia is the “other” Italian sportbike manufacturer after Ducati. However, the perception of being second best is unwarranted. To begin, Aprilia has an incredible track record in World Superbike. Second, the company’s MotoGP efforts have shown encouraging early returns. Thirdly, Aprilia offers a wider variety of sportbikes than certain Japanese manufacturers, including superbikes, naked bikes, adventure bikes, and streetfighters. The 999cc RSV4 RF LE, the street version of Aprilia’s championship-winning V-4 racer, is the flagship of the company’s superbike attack. Some examples of naked motorcycles include the Tuono V4 1100 Factory ABS and the Shiver 900. Both the Caponord 1200 Rally and the Dorsoduro 900 are appealing motorcycles, but the former is an enticing big-bore adventure bike, while the latter is a scruffy streetfighter. When you consider the SR Motard 50 scooter, Aprilia is clearly the best in the business.
