Top 11 HEAVIEST MOTORCYCLES in 2022

When it comes to motorcycles, there are a few things that riders typically look for – speed, agility, and power. However, there are also those who prefer bikes that pack a little more weight. If you’re in the market for a heavyweight motorcycle, here are 11 of the heaviest that you can buy today.

BMW recently launched their new R 18 cruiser-based tourer, the Transcontinental, which is fully equipped with everything one could need on a motorcycle trip. Just like many other motorcycles of this type, the Transcontinental can be measured using household appliances as a value. machines of this size and weight are usually difficult for the average biker to handle, as they are slow to start and tend to wobble through bends. However, sometimes the chunkiness is worth it for the impressive performance figures.

Suzuki’s all-new 2021 1340cc hyperbike is one of the most anticipated bikes of the year. It’s phenomenally powerful, with 187bhp that gives you a rush like nothing else. The bike is also striking-looking, and now with a full suite of rider electronics and TFT dash, it’s impressively equipped as well.

However, the Kawasaki 1400GTR is the heaviest of the current crop of high-tech sports tourers at 264kg, rivaling the ZZR1400 (315kg) and its heavier touring version.

Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special (385 kg)

The Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special is one of the best and heaviest bikes from the Harley-Davidson Brand. It has an impressive design with a superb chassis that makes it a real monster on the road – it weighs about 385 kg!

Although it’s not the top-of-the-line model, the nearly $28,000 Road Glide Special manages to feel like a quality bike that stands out. While it doesn’t have a lot of storage space, making it more of a style statement than a practical workhorse, the Road Glide Special’s refinements manage to update its ancient bones just enough to keep it competitive.

The Road Glide Special is a reminder of what we love about Harley Davidson, even in the face of intense competition from Indian motorcycles. This heavyweight bike is smooth, soulful, and surprisingly maneuverable – appealing to riders of all levels.

Energica Ego [Weight: 282kg]

These new electric bikes are quite heavy, due to the large batteries they need to carry around. The heaviest of these bikes is the Ego, from Italian brand Energica. This superbike-style bike weighs in at a whopping 251kg, which is quite a lot compared to other electric bikes on the market. Even though it’s heavy, the Ego is still a great bike in terms of speed and handling. It’s equipped with some great features too, like TFT display, different modes, Brembo brakes and more.

But it’s also very heavy. The new, more expensive RS version, is slightly lighter- but not by much.

The bike is notable for its impressive performance, as it is able to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds. The Ego also has a range of 100 miles, making it a great option for long-distance riding. In terms of charging, the Ego can be fully charged in just 4 hours, making it one of the quickest charging electric motorcycles on the market.

Overall, the Energica Ego is an excellent electric motorcycle that offers great performance and range. If you are looking for an electric bike that can provide a fun and exhilarating ride, then the Ego is a great option.

Honda F6B (385 kg)

The Honda F6B is a powerful motorcycle that offers great performance. Its engine has eight cylinders and offers 275 horsepower. This bike weighs 385 kg, which is the same as the Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special.

The F6B is lighter than the Goldwing, narrower than a panniered adventure bike, and capable of a 42° lean angle. It’s been designed for those who want a Wing that’s gone through a mid-life crisis and come out fitter and meaner. Once you get it heaved over, it’s not going to change direction or lean angle quickly. There’s no ABS which seems like a glaring omission on a touring bike, but the stock 320mm discs and four-piston calipers deliver plenty of feel and stopping power.

Triumph Rocket 3 GT [Weight: 305kg]

Top 11 HEAVIEST MOTORCYCLES in 2022

When Triumph first launched the Rocket III three-cylinder cruiser back in 2004, it was an absolute monster. It weighed in at a whopping 367kg and had a massive 2294cc engine. So when the all-new version was launched last year, weighing over 60kg less but still packing a punch with165bhp, it was nothing short of miraculous. But even with all its impressive features and handling, it’s still a hefty bike.

At 291kg, the GT version of the Triumph is one of the heaviest motorcycles on the market. However, when you consider the unique performance, presence, and experience it brings, it’s actually impressively light.

Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide (395kg)

The Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide is an amazing bike to ride, thanks to its powerful sound system and infotainment system. It also features a best-in-class infotainment system, which makes it even more enjoyable to ride. However, all of these features come at a cost, as the Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide weighs a whopping 395 kg.

BMW R 18 Transcontinental [Weight: 398kg]

The new BMW R 18 Transcontinental full-dresser is a powerful entry at number four. The R 18 cruiser on which its based is already impressive for its monster air/oil cooled 1800cc boxer engine and slick heritage/cruiser style and finish. The new Transcontinental adds to this with features like a larger fuel tank and windshield, as well as additional storage space. This makes it perfect for long-distance riding, and the comfortable seat and suspension ensure that you’ll be able to enjoy the journey just as much as the destination.

The R 18 B’s sister bike, the Transcontinental, is the US-style “full dresser” with a top box, high screen, fairing lowers, heel-toe shifter, and more. It also weighs significantly more than the R 18 B, which is why it’s fourth on our list. The R 18 B impressed us with its added bagger screen and hard cases, 10.5in TFT dash, Marshall speakers, and more. However, all of that also adds to its weight. The Transcontinental is the ultimate in being a true US-style ‘full dresser’ with top box, high screen, fairing lowers, heel-toe change, the works.

Kawasaki VN1700 Voyager (406 kg)

The Kawasaki Voyager Custom is a scaled-down version of the full-dressed Voyager, Meaner, sleeker and £1500 cheaper than the big Voyager. The huge 1700cc engine remains, as does the side panniers but far less bling and chrome makes it more manly and gives the impression of a lighter more manageable bike. The Kawasaki Voyager Custom is a good looking, cheaper alternative to the American competition but let down by huge bulk and the need to change down for fast acceleration.

Indian Roadmaster Limited [Weight: 412kg]

Since Indian was revived in 2014 under new Polaris ownership, it has done a decent job of competing with Harley-Davidson. Much of its definition of being “better” has been down to being “bigger.”

Indian’s line of “big twins” motorcycles are all powered by the company’s massive 1811cc Thunderstroke V-twin engine. The three bikes in the series are the Chief cruiser, the Chieftain bagger, and the Roadmaster full-dresser, with the latter being the largest of the three. All of these bikes come with a lot of great features like sumptuous comfort, plenty of luggage space, loads of power, and a slick, TFT dash-controlled infotainment system. However, all of those features come at a cost in terms of both price and weight. The most basic Roadmaster starts at over £26,000, and the top-spec Limited model weighs in at well over 400 kilos.

Harley-Davidson CVO Limited [Weight: 428kg]

Top 11 HEAVIEST MOTORCYCLES in 2022

If you’re looking for the heaviest bike on the market, you might be surprised to learn that it’s not necessarily the one you might expect. The latest version of the classic ElectraGlide, the now £27K, 1868cc, TFT-equipped UltraLimited weighs in at a whopping 416kg. But if that’s not enough for you, you could always go with the even heavier Road Glide Limited, which comes with a bigger frame-mounted fairing and larger front wheel. It tips the scales at an impressive 423kg.

At the top of the range is the hand-made, luxury CVO Limited model. It’s packed with features, has special paintwork and a more powerful engine, and all of this comes at a price tag of £37,495. That’s almost as much as a Caterham 7 170 car, which is £15,000 cheaper and only slightly less powerful. And if you add a pillion passenger, the CVO Limited is actually heavier!

Boss Hoss V8 [Weight: 500+kg]

Top 11 HEAVIEST MOTORCYCLES in 2022

Shop your motorcycle gear here: Revzilla

The Corvette V8 powered Boss Hoss is unquestionably the heaviest bike in production (and probably also the silliest and ugliest). The contentious bit is ‘in production’. A typically American oddball first produced in 1993 complete with 355bhp, the Boss Hoss is not officially brought into the UK and would probably fall foul of a million regulations if it were.

You can still import Boss Hoss bikes and trikes into the UK, even though they’re produced in Tennessee. Although, used examples are already on the road here. If you’re looking to spend your money, there are probably better options out there.
